The Mauritius Research Council (MRC), operating under the aegis of the Ministry of Technology, Communication and Innovation, as the apex body for the promotion and coordination of Government investment in Science, Research, Technology and Innovation participated in INFOTECH 2016 which was held from 1st to 4th December at the Swami Vivekananda International Convention Centre (SVICC), Pailles.
During the INFOTECH, the guests had the opportunity to:
(i) Visit the different stands and interact with different types of Robots including humanoid robots
(ii) Follow free introductory courses on building and programing robots (adapted to all age groups starting from Toddlers 4yrs and above!);
(iii) listen to informative talks on Robotics and the related emerging technologies, given by world known experts in the field
(iv) Take cognizance of innovative projects in the field of Robotics and related emerging technologies that have been conceived by our local innovators.
The objective of the above program was to boost the interest of the younger generation in innovation and technology through Robotics and related emerging Technologies. Consequently, this may be act as one of the starting points (leveraging on robotics technology) for nurturing the innovation culture as from a very young age.
